Highly recommend this place for children’s rock climbing lessons! Coach Andy is incredibly patient and encouraging, and he has helped my girl reach new heights with every visit—literally and figuratively. It’s been amazing to watch her grow in confidence and conquer her fear of heights thanks to his support and positive coaching. We look forward to every lesson!

My child really enjoys training with Coach Hadi. He is very patient with the children and always takes the time to guide them carefully. He teaches real climbing techniques and explains things clearly so the kids can understand. We can see that he is genuinely serious about helping the children improve their climbing skills. My child always looks forward to his lessons and has gained a lot of confidence and progress under his guidance. We truly appreciate his dedication and support.

My girl Victoria, has been learning rock climbing here for about 30 lessons, and it has been a truly wonderful journey for her. She always looks forward to every session and has grown not only in strength, but also in confidence, focus, and resilience.

All the coaches we’ve met are very professional, patient, and passionate about what they do. They pay close attention to each child’s progress and tailor their guidance according to individual ability levels. What I really appreciate is how they balance discipline with fun, making every lesson both structured and enjoyable.

In particular, Victoria really enjoys learning with Coach Ali and Coach Edmund. They are very encouraging, attentive, and great at building rapport with the kids. They constantly motivate her to try new routes and gently push her beyond her comfort zone, while always ensuring safety. Their positive energy and clear instructions make a big difference in her learning experience.

The admin team is also very friendly and accommodating. There were times when my girl had to stay home to study for her WA, and I needed to cancel lessons — they were very understanding and helpful with the arrangements.

On top of that, the place is thoughtful and generous, even providing free canned drinks for both kids and waiting parents, which is a really nice touch.

Overall, the environment is lively, welcoming, and well-maintained. Highly recommended for kids who want to try something active, fun, and confidence-building!

This place is run by an incredible team. Ethan and Coaches are super patient, warm, and friendly - they are specific with the kids on how to improve, so much fun, and when my kids are anxious on the walls they encourage them to look up, adjust their footing, and just keep trying.

I started with the trial for my daughter and immediately signed her up for a package (even tho she’s a bit young).

Then I took my nephew along the next time and he loved it so much too that i signed him up for another package.

ClimbUp has built a superb climbing environment for kids - and the caregivers and families who come along - we’ll keep coming back! Wish they let adults climb too 🤣
A fantastic and vibrant climbing gym that caters to all ages and skill levels. As someone relatively new to climbing, I found the beginner-friendly routes encouraging and the staff incredibly helpful and patient during the safety briefing. The variety of climbing walls, including the fun zone which looked great for kids, kept things interesting. The facility is clean and well-maintained, creating a comfortable environment. It's a great place for a fun workout and to challenge yourself. I'll definitely be returning for another climb!

My 5+ year old son has been attending rockclimbing classes since Jan this year and we all love it! Wonderful and encouraging coaches, friendly admin, and I love the new parents lounge that gives us a good space to chill and wait for our son! He’s grown in confidence and gross and fine motor skills, we can’t wait to see him climb to greater heights with climb up! ☺️

We've recently started rock climbing here for both our boys and they love it! Great that the siblings are able to be grouped together and the coaches are able to tailor to the individual proficiencies. There's also a parents waiting corner where drinks are complimentary - awesome place and would recommend!

My nephew will turn 6 years in a few months. We brought him climbing and he took to it like a natural. After a few rounds, he kept wanting to try new walls, and after some encouragement, he pushed himself to climb all the way to the top.

The staff at Funan are professional and friendly, allayed any concerns we may have, made sure our equipment were safe, provided pointers about belay techniques and were our cheerleaders.

Great activity for energy loaded kids.
We’ll definitely be back.

Me and my elder sis went for a rock climbing experience today and the facilities here are really good and well maintained! :)) 🤩🤩🤩

During the safety briefing, our instructor, Mr Timothy, was really patient and understanding as I was kinda slow at learning but with his guidance, me and my sis fully understood how to safely climb up the walls. The briefing was really comprehensive with all the details we needed to know such as how to belay, climb and use the automated belay system safely. With the amazingly done safety breifinh, me and my sis had a wonderful experience!! 🥳🥳🥳

Futhermore, when I was scaling one of the walls, Mr Timothy also approached to give advice how to continue forwards when he noticed I was stuck. Although I didn't successfully climb up the wall, I managed to climb up slightly higher!! Another staff member also gave me tips on how to belay better so I learned a ton. 💪💪

Overall, the staff are really friendly and caring and the facility is well maintained and clean and fun!! 😀 🤩🤩Highly recommended to come!! 😀😀

Spent a whole full day with my two young boys here. CC is one of the best because they don't go by credit system which always end up with some odd value. You can pay per visit or buy some bundle package.

The adult-kid combi ticket is super worth it, plus there are many auto-belay lanes which allowed my boys to go continuously without me straining my neck! One of the staff there Marcus, was also very friendly throughout our whole day there, and engaged my boys alot. The routes are sufficiently diverse with varying level of difficulty to cater to climbers of different capabilities. They also allowed re-entry, and there are many food options in Funan, so it's easy to spend a full day there!

My boys asked to return soon! 😄

Had a great experience at Climb Central Funan. The entrance at Basement 2 is easy to find, and once inside, the space really opens up. There’s a wide range of routes catering from complete beginners to experienced climbers, so it never feels limiting. What stands out is how spacious and well-organised the facility is, giving everyone enough room to climb comfortably without feeling crowded. The overall vibe is energetic yet welcoming, making it a fun place to train, try something new, or just spend a few active hours.

I'm thrilled to share our incredible experience at Climb Central Funan, where my 10-year-old son Aaron faced his fears and discovered the thrill of rock climbing. As a parent, it's always heartwarming to see your child push beyond their comfort zone and achieve something they thought was impossible.

Aaron has always been hesitant to try climbing due to his height phobia, but the team at Climb Central Funan made him feel safe and supported from the very beginning. The staff were friendly, patient, and encouraging, taking the time to explain the safety procedures and help Aaron get comfortable with the equipment.

As we began our climbing session, Aaron was initially nervous, but with each successful climb, his confidence grew. The routes were cleverly designed to cater to different skill levels and ages, ensuring that Aaron was always challenged but never overwhelmed. The automatic belay system also provided an added layer of safety, allowing Aaron to focus on his climbing technique without worrying about falling.

What impressed me most was the way the Climb Central Funan team created a positive and supportive environment that encouraged Aaron to keep pushing himself. The instructors offered helpful tips and advice, while also celebrating Aaron's successes and progress.

As the session progressed, Aaron's fear of heights began to dissipate, replaced by a sense of excitement and accomplishment. He was beaming with pride after completing each route, and by the end of our session, he was eager to come back and tackle even more challenging climbs.

In short, our experience at Climb Central Funan was nothing short of fantastic. The team's expertise, patience, and enthusiasm made all the difference in helping Aaron overcome his fears and discover a new passion for climbing. We can't wait to come back and continue our climbing adventures!

Rating: 5/5 stars

Recommended for: Families, children, and anyone looking for a fun and challenging climbing experience.

Tips:
- Book your session in advance to ensure availability.
- Wear comfortable clothing and shoes that are suitable for climbing.
- Don't be afraid to ask the instructors for help or guidance – they're always happy to assist!

Will we return?: Absolutely! We're already planning our next visit to Climb Central Funan.

Amazing First Climbing Experience at Climb Central Funan!

I had an incredible time at Climb Central Funan! It was my first time trying sport climbing, and I couldn’t have picked a better place to start. The facility is well-maintained, spacious, and beginner-friendly, with routes that cater to all skill levels. The staff was also very helpful and accommodating, making sure I had the right guidance and support as I navigated the walls.

I’m especially glad I started my climbing journey here in Singapore, as it gave me the confidence and practice I need for my upcoming Mt. Guiting-Guiting climb in the Philippines next week. The experience was both challenging and rewarding, and I felt a great sense of accomplishment after each climb.

Whether you’re a first-timer like me or an experienced climber, this place is a must-visit! I’ll definitely be back to climb again when I’m in Singapore. Highly recommended!

I had a great time climbing at Funan, and it was my first experience. For first timer like me, they provided instruction and allowed us to practice with their assistance initially. Once we got the hang of it, we were able to climb on our own, as the staff couldn't provide individual assistance. As a beginner, I recommend coming here with a friend. The place is pleasant, and the staff are friendly.

I wanted to try out this gym with my family. I don't know why the staff insist I need to create an account and upload a photo of my face. When I asked the staff about deleting my photo and account after the climb, they had no answer and just didn't know how. I just left since they won't let us climb unless they have a photo of my face in their crappy IT system which they aren't even capable of using. I do not recommend this place.

Mix of top rope and bouldering. Their bouldering grades are a bit more difficult than what I'm used to in Japan / San Francisco. The mats are a bit hard 🥶
We celebrated our daughter's birthday here, and the team was incredibly organized and helpful, especially with 15 kids to manage. The kids had a blast! All safety instructions were clearly explained at the start of the session. My daughter loved it so much that we've started climbing on weekends!

Been climbing at this gym before Ground Up took over from Climb Asia. Stopped going for some time when they switched most lanes to autobelay and limited available lanes due to covid alternate lane restrictions. I’m glad they have now changed the ninja course to 2 new sections of walls and now have a better mix of autobelay and top rope walls.

The booking system however leaves much to be desired - despite not collecting payment we have to first “buy” a membership and then book in a slot. If payment is to be collected on-site, strongly recommend to just allow booking of slots instead of adding unnecessary steps in the journey. Also will be great if booking can be done on behalf, instead of having one account per booking which makes it hard to coordinate share pass booking slots.

Overall good climb, and looking forward to a better booking system in the time to come.

I had a good time during the guided introduction class with Eugene. He was chill, easy-going, and gave very clear and helpful guidance. The class fee also includes the shoes rental fee.
The gym is surprisingly small. There's not much space to safely rest or wait for your turn on the mat. You're always in someone's way or potentially in someone's falling zone. The sitting area by the mat is also tiny and cramped.
And of course, with a small gym, the facilities are minimum. Other than the main climbing area, there's a kilter board, some gym equipments, one showering room, lockers, and a simple pantry. It feels more like a small, simple community gym than something commercialised.
Since the gym is very small, the atmosphere is very social. Everyone around is in a group and talking to their friends, which can feel a bit intimidating if you come alone and don't know anyone.
This review may sound a bit negative but I don't think there's anything wrong with this gym, it's all about what kind of atmosphere you are looking for. It feels like a local hidden gem to me.

Did the Guided Intro session with Leonard at Climba. The gym wasn't too crowded given it’s a Friday afternoon, and staff shared lots of practical tips on climbing technique, route-solving, and even recovery stretches when I got tired.
We got to try a variety of routes (~5-8) in 2 hours, and the gym itself is cozy with plenty of beginner friendly climbs.

Overall, a really enjoyable experience as a complete beginner and might be my new hobby 😀

Such a comforable and cozy climbing gym that not only provides fun and exciting routes, they also offer pop ups for local entrepreneurs frequently and sometimes they even have sponsors like mineral water, which is free for climbers to try!
Staffs were also helpful and friendly; they would cheer and guide me when I struggled cus I'm a scrub lol.
Loved the variety of routes that enticed me to utilise and learn techniques to overcome them, and it definitely felt good when I sent it!

Kenric’s coaching was comprehensive and fun! He recommends the routes to each individual based on their initial capabilities ensuring that the climb was enjoyable! 🙂
Went for the beginner package here and had a very good time especially because of the instructor, Danyal. He was patient and helpful in guiding was through the steps on how to climb. As someone who had no experience, his welcoming nature made us wanting to come here more :)) thank you so much

Did SNCS Level 1 certification with Kinetics Climbing.

The experience was great, it encompasses safety/risks to look out for, experiences/stories shared to further facilitate the theoretical aspects. The course length was also great, with breaks in between!

Overall, would recommend for interested parties to learn here!

Only concern is the facilities could use some upgrading (dusty, old, and abit cramped), other than that the people here are nice 🙂

Did a level 1 SNCs course, instructor was very thorough. Facilities are very old and dusty. Extremely limited routes for Top rope, it’s more of a bouldering gym. Have to pay extra to use bouldering facilities after the course, unlike other gyms where you can continue to climb after the course.

It was my first time here to bring my kid for the recent sparks 3.0 climbing competition.

To be honest, the experience felt rather messy and disorganized. Just my 5 cents worth to make your next event better. 👍

1. The registration table was situated smack at the front after the entrance of the gym, with an indemnity qr code declaration to be done on the spot. I saw many fumbling to do it and it held up the queue causing further congestion.

There was a long corridor outside, perhaps putting signs outside to do early indemnity would help.

2. The registration was manned by one tired looking lady, perhaps another one person to help would help ease the jam.

3. Demarcating areas with visible signs for warm up, contest area, shoes etc would make it easier for first timers to orientate to the gym. Shoes were spewed around and several people tripping over them. Picture was taken when there were much lesser people at the registration area.

4. Using a simple microphone would ensure all contestants are able to hear the briefing. The poor gentleman was shouting the briefing and the some at the midzone couldn't make out all the words clearly.

5. Not too sure what the wooden table with some bubble tea cups on it was for, could it have been shifted elsewhere to create more purposeful space i.e more moving or seating space

Couldn't help to notice it as an eyesore as it was in the middle of no where with disposable chopsticks and half drank bubble teas on it. 😅

6. Noticed one climbing route that seemed to be planned too close to another. The staff had to stop contestants several times from climbing halfway because someone was on that route.
Not too sure if it would affect timing and climbing momentum.

Just my 5 cents worth to make your events bigger successes.

General a nice place to climb, huge variety of routes but quite concerning that the mats are still so solid after many months. Felt like I was just landing on a seat cushion laid on normal ground 😥 I still love the gym but would appreciate if something could be done to the mats for safety reasons 🥲

Mats for the main boulder area is way to hard, even after ~5months? based on previous reviews and the mats are still too hard it seems. It felt like falling on hard ground despite only falling from halfway up the wall. I don't want to imagine the potential injuries from falling awkwardly while higher up on the wall.
Moonboard and warm up area mats are softer/normal, which should be used for the main area too.

Today was my first time climbing at BFF Bendemeer, and unfortunately the experience at the registration counter was quite disappointing. The staff member who handled our registration seemed uninterested, dismissive, and visibly irritated throughout the process. As a first-timer, I expected some basic guidance, but there was barely any explanation or orientation.

What stood out even more was the difference in attitude when regulars or familiar faces arrived — the service quality clearly changed. It gave the impression that the place is run “for friends, by friends,” which doesn’t feel welcoming to new climbers.

When returning my shoes, I wasn’t given any instructions earlier, so I asked a staff member what to do. Instead of assisting, she simply told me to “read the instructions at the side” in a dismissive tone.

The gym also had many kids running around unsupervised, making the place feel more like a playground than a climbing gym.

To be fair, the climbing routes themselves are well-set and the climbers there are generally chill. But the overall service and professionalism from the staff really need improvement.

I like the gym but the staff were very rude and unaccommodating. My wife who was injured was unable to climb and they would not allow her to enter the gym unless we paid full price for a pass.

The staff was a young man with very short hair and glasses.

I would have been a better encounter if he was at least sympathetic towards the situation, but he was adamant that it was company policy and did not bother to suggest an alternative.

The best climbing gym in Singapore - our group had a great time! There are routes and space available for all levels. Its easiest to bring your own socks if you’ll need to rent shoes from the facility. Access to the restrooms is inconvenient as you have to exit the gym, go upstairs and way to the back.

Love this place, good ambience, music, air con and routes. Best climbing place in SG for beginners and experts too. With many walls, slabs, overhangs, moonboard and auto belays and speed walls, it's a pretty good mix. But the one thing they fall short is to brief about safety. The staff don't teach new ones how to climb, clip in and fall properly which can be a safety hazard

How to Choose the Best Rock Climbing Centre for Your Child

Choosing the right gym involves more than picking the nearest venue or the cheapest trial. Start by checking whether a gym truly caters to beginners: look for clear safety briefings, guided sessions and close supervision for young children and first-timers. If your child is nervous about heights, find centres with patient coaches and gradual progression systems.

Class sizes and coaching experience matter. Smaller groups allow more individual attention for learning movement, safety habits and body awareness. Consider the type of climbing on offer: bouldering suits some children, while roped climbing or auto-belays may appeal to those who like harness-based progression.

Safety and supervision should be non-negotiable. Look for mandatory briefings, adult supervision rules, qualified instructors and age-appropriate guidance. An air-conditioned, indoor space can make sessions more comfortable for younger children as they build stamina.

Think about long-term progression. Gyms that offer levels, logbooks, technique training or certifications give kids clear goals and motivation. Facilities also matter: a well-equipped gym with safe systems, rest areas and a family-friendly atmosphere makes outings easier for parents.

Finally, match the gym to your child’s personality. Some children thrive in playful, high-energy settings; others prefer structured coaching with clear milestones. The best fit makes your child feel safe, encouraged and excited to return.
